Quezon City employee faces raps for faking receipts

MANILA, Philippines - A case for falsification of public documents was filed against an employee of the Quezon City (QC) government for reportedly faking the receipts of police clearance applicants two years ago.

Nerissa Bondame, formerly miscellaneous fees collector of the Treasurer’s Office Tax and Fees Division, was charged for 300 counts of falsification of public documents before the sala of QC Regional Trial Court Branch 104 Judge Catherine Manodon.

Court records showed that on June 2, 2009, Police Officer 3 Ruben Dipasupil, criminal record division custodian and fingerprint supervisor at the police clearance division, was supervising applicants at the QC Hall when he noticed that the receipts of the applicants did not match the original and had different color numbers.

When he asked the applicants where they obtained their receipts, they pointed to Bondame.

Bondame told Dipasupil that the receipts were issued and provided by the City Treasurer’s Office.

Upon examination, the receipts were found to be fake because it did not have security marks. A bail of P24,000 for each count or a total of P7.2 million was recommended for Bondame’s provisional liberty.
