Marikina grocery heist caught on camera

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - A surveillance camera caught on video three armed men and a woman robbing a grocery store in Marikina City of P500,000 Monday night, police said yesterday.

A woman, pretending to be a customer, was seen entering the Back To School Sales and Grocery in Barangay Sto. Niño at about 7:24 p.m. Three men arrived on a motorcycle and entered the grocery several minutes later.

Senior Police Officer 2 Greco Gonzales said one of the men approached the cashier, Malou Gregorio, and announced the heist.

The robbers took the money in the cash register and sped away on the motorcycle. The woman, who served as a lookout, joined them.

Grocery owner Jose Ong, 49, provided the local police a copy of the surveillance camera footage. A police official said they are coordinating with other police units to identify the robbers.
