'Siblings took Ram for granted'

MANILA, Philippines - A week before Ram Revilla was killed, the 23-year-old actor told his personal assistant that he was having difficulties in dealing with his younger siblings.

Ronald Ancajas, 31, said he and Revilla (real name Ramgen Bautista) were driving home from Cavite when his “boss Ramgen” suddenly uttered:

“Nad, it’s hard to be the eldest. My siblings, I may be the eldest, but they seem to take me for granted.”

Ancajas said Ram had been reprimanded by his father, former senator Ramon Revilla Sr. He said the young actor did not elaborate on the reason but claimed that his siblings have been fabricating stories.

Ram is the eldest of nine children of Revilla Sr. and Genelyn Magsaysay. He was stabbed and shot dead inside the family’s home in BF Homes Parañaque on Oct. 28.

In his statement to the police, Ancajas said Ram, Joseph, and Mara had misunderstandings over the household budget.

“What I know is they have had disagreements over the budget because boss Ramgen was in charge of it,” he said. “He said they have been telling tales about him to their dad and they have not been speaking for months.”

In an interview with The STAR, Ancajas said he does not have personal knowledge on how Ram handled the money or how he distributed it to family members.

But as far as he is concerned the “budget” was the only reason why the Bautista siblings quarreled. Ram would often quarrel with Ramona and make fun of Joseph.

Ancajas said he “could not understand” why Ram made fun of his younger brother, who he described as “very nice” and “reserved.”

“Sometimes, he would even call Joseph ‘sis’ and I would even tell him to stop doing that to his brother,” Ancajas said.
