13 anyos na kampeon sa painting competition pinarangalan

MANILA, Philippines - Pinarangalan ni Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim ang isang high school student ng St. Stephen’s High School na itinanghal na kampeon sa 20th International Children’s Painting Competition on the Environment na proyekto ng United Nation’s Environment Programme (UNEP) na idinaos noong Setyembre 20-23.

Sa pagtungo ni Trisha Co Reyes kay Lim, ipinakita nito ang parangal na Global First Prize Winner sa nasabing kompetisyon kung saan binig­yan naman ito ng kapalit na Certificate of Commendation mula sa city government.

Si Reyes, 13 at first year high school student ay isa lamang sa apat na milyong lu­mahok mula sa 99 bansa sa painting competition na may temang “LIFE IN THE FOREST” 

Ayon kay Reyes, ang kanyang ipininta at inilahok ay kanyang nais na makita sa mga susunod na taon kung saan malalawak na kagubatan, halaman at maraming hayop. 

Ang “LIFE IN THE FOREST­”  ay bahagi ng exhibit sa bu­ong mundo kung saan ka­salukuyan itong nasa German International Airport Lobby. 

Tumanggap si Reyes ng $2,000, certificate at tropeo matapos manalo sa kompe­tisyon na ginanap sa Ban­dung, Indonesia sa pagdiriwang ng Tunza International Children Conference.

Pinayuhan ni Lim si Reyes na ipagpatuloy ang kanyang galing sa pagpi­pinta at huwag sayangin ang talentong ibinigay ng Diyos.

Sumaksi sa pagbibigay­ parangal sina Chief of Staff at Media Bureau Chief Ri­cardo “Ric” De Guzman, de­partment heads, city-run hospital directors, MPD-Acting­ Director Alex Gutierrez, Police Station Commanders at mga chairman ng District I.
