Caloocan trader killed
MANILA, Philippines - Police are tracking down two motorcycle-riding men who shot dead a businessman in front of his house in Caloocan City Friday.
Police Officer 2 Joel Montebon said Ricardo Cartajenas, 49, a resident of Tagaytay street in Barangay 126, was on his way to his store on C-3 Road when a man armed with a handgun shot him twice in the back of the head at close range at around 6:30 a.m.
Witnesses told police the gunman escaped on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. The motorcycle has no license plate.
The Caloocan City police remained clueless yesterday on the motive for Cartajenas’ murder. City police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Santos directed his men to conduct a deeper investigation into the case.
