BIR files raps vs Ricky Reyes

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed a complaint with the Quezon City prosecutor’s office against beauty guru Ricky Reyes for failing to present his accounting books and records to authorities for examination.

Reyes, president of Ricky Reyes Holding Inc., was charged with violation of the Tax Reform Act of 1992.

In the complaint, Lorna Cruz, assistant chief of BIR Revenue Region 7’s legal division said Reyes did not submit the books of accounts and other accounting records of his company even after several follow-ups in 2010.

Reyes or his authorized representative also failed to appear and submit the required documents when the BIR issued a subpoena duces tecum last April 12.
