Police tipster shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged police informant was shot dead in front of his house in Malabon City before dawn yesterday.

Eduardo Eudisio, 36, a resident of Barangay Longos, died of several gunshot wounds on the way to the Tondo Medical Center.

Police Officer 1 Benjamin Sy Jr. said Eudisio was standing in front of his house at around 2:30 a.m., when the suspect, identified as Michael Ignacio, alias Michael Bulag, also of Barangay Longos, shot him then fled on foot.

The Malabon City police said the victim’s link to the police is the most probable motive for his killing.

Barangay Longos is a known haven of criminal elements in Malabon City and Eudisio’s murder as a police informant is not first in the area, investigators said.

At least two women who reportedly worked with the local police were recently killed in Barangay Longos. Both cases remain unsolved.
