Suspect in slay of film critic, girlfriend arrested

- Jun Elias -

MANILA, Philippines - A woman with a P1-million bounty on her head for the killing of a Filipino-Canadian film critic and his Slovenian girlfriend was arrested in La Union province yesterday.

Criselda Dayag, 45, was apprehended in Barangay Caguintingan, Rosario more than two years after she reportedly helped rob and kill Alexis Tioseco and Nica Bohinc, a freelance film journalist, in their home in Quezon City. She worked for the couple as a maid.

Dayag was arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents and Rosario policemen, La Union police director Senior Superintendent Ramon Purugganan said.

The warrant for Dayag’s arrest for robbery with homicide was issued June 22 by Judge Marie Christine Jacob of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 106 of Quezon City, who recommended no bail for her. Dagay is in the custody of the NBI.
