QCPD official's daughter beaten, robbed

- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City Police District (QCPD) official’s 15-year-old daughter was beaten and pushed into a ditch by a robber who took her bag along Commonwealth Avenue Sunday night.

Chief Inspector Edgar Osam, head of the QCPD’s Public Information Office, said his daughter, who came from dance practice at her school, was walking towards the gate of Doña Carmen Subdivision in Barangay Commonwealth when an unidentified man grabbed her collar from behind and hit her on the head with a blunt object at past 9 p.m.

Osam said the robber ordered his daughter to give up her wallet and cell phone. When she refused, the robber grabbed her bag, which contained her wallet and cell phone, then pushed her into a ditch and crossed to the other side of the street.

Two other girls had reportedly been robbed in that area, Osam said.
