Farmer gunned down in Caloocan

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines - A farmer was killed after a suspected hired killer peppered him with bullets as he walked home Thursday night in North Caloocan.

Senior Inspector Leonilo Antonio Padulaga, North Caloocan police station investigation unit chief, identified the victim as Ernesto Toledo alias Nonoy, 45, resident of Anahaw street, Barangay 179, Camarin.

SPO1 Joseph Delgado said the suspect used a .45 caliber pistol in killing the victim and fled on board a motorcycle without plates. Police said initial investigation showed that motive for the killing can be revenge, since the victim caused the imprisonment of a carjack syndicate in March.
