House helper arrested for rob-slay of employer
MANILA, Philippines - A 23-year-old house helper was arrested Tuesday night in Muntinlupa City after a witness tagged her in the robbery and murder of her employer two weeks ago in Navotas City.
Senior Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen, Navotas City police chief, said that Virginia Solomon, a resident of Barangay Potatan in Muntinlupa City, is the prime suspect in the robbery and murder of 77-year-old Cristina Geronimo at the victim’s residence in San Rafael Village, Navotas City at around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.
Police Officer 3 Jerome Espina said that before the rob-slay was uncovered, Solomon asked their guard, Agusto Navetoria, to buy medicines for Geronimo at a nearby drugstore.
Solomon was gone when the guard returned and found their employer in her room with multiple head injuries.
“According to the suspect, who was only with Geronimo for two months, she was a victim of maltreatment reason why she killed and robbed her of some P20,000,” Quibuyen told The STAR.
