Rob suspect nabbed in Caloocan
MANILA, Philippines - A man believed to have robbed a computer shop two weeks ago was arrested in a follow-up operation in Caloocan City yesterday.
Chris Dumangcas was charged with robbery and illegal possession of firearms before the city prosecutor’s office, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Wilson Santos.
Dumangcas is being held at the Caloocan City Police Jail Management Section while awaiting the commitment order from the court.
Bagong Silang substation commander Superintendent Carlito Dimalanta said victims Rommel Paraoan, Santiago Barba and Ronald Candelario identified Dumangcas as one of three gunmen who entered Candelario’s shop and robbed them.
Police sources said Dumangcas is also implicated in several other robberies. Dimalanta said Dumangcas claimed there have a rival group also targeting computer shops in the city.
