Osang sues bodyguard for stealing motorbike

- Bebot Sison Jr., Cecille Suerte Felipe -

MANILA, Philippines - Actress Rosanna Roces filed charges yesterday against her bodyguard, a dismissed policeman, for allegedly taking her son’s motorcycle from her house in Quezon City last week.

Roces went to the office of Highway Patrol Group director Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina to file the complaint against Frank Robert Ramirez, who held the rank of Police Officer 1 and was assigned to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 1.

In her complaint, Roces said Ramirez took the Yamaha FZ-16 from her house at around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 19.

“The vehicle was my gift to my son on father’s day but Ramirez used them as his own. I gave him days to return the vehicle but instead (I) got threats and blackmail,” she said.

Roces said she asked some policemen to help her but nothing happened, prompting her to file the complaint.

She said another policeman-friend introduced Ramirez to her. “I was told he had been dismissed from the service so I gave him a job as my security since February. He even borrowed money from me as he claimed he would settle his case with the (National Police Commission),” Roces said.

Espina instructed Senior Superintendent Frank Castillo to coordinate with the QCPD to check on Ramirez’s status.
