MANILA, Philippines - Police rescued two girls from an eatery that reportedly served as a front for prostitution in Valenzuela City at past midnight Saturday.
Chief Inspector Danilo Bugay, Valenzuela City police intelligence and investigation chief, said the operation also resulted in the arrest of canteen owner Pacita Zaragosa, 61; and employees Janie Reyes, 52, and Wendelyn Dy, 28.
At around noon Saturday, Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian directed the local police to rescue girls reportedly working as waitresses at the Pachot Eatery on M.H. del Pilar street in Barangay Arkong Bato.
Police Officer 3 Wennie Cale, of the Valenzuela City police station women and children protection unit, said proper charges will be filed against Zaragosa and her employees.
