3 cops harass boy in Mandaluyong

MANILA, Philippines - Three rookie policemen are in hot water for allegedly harassing and poking a gun at a 15-year-old boy in Mandaluyong City Thursday.

Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Francisco Manalo vowed to “throw the book” at Police Officers 1 Angelito Bagona Jr., Eugene Abocado, and Leonardo Alonzo, all assigned at the District Public Safety Battalion.

Abocado and Bagona have been arrested while Alonzo remains at large.

The victim and his family were at a relative’s wake at the Dey Mortuary Service while the three policemen, who were in uniform, were drinking at a nearby establishment.

When the victim passed the policemen, Alonzo allegedly stopped him and poked his service firearm at the boy. The victim’s father intervened and Alonzo let go of the boy.

The boy’s family said the policemen continued to harass the victim, prompting them to go to a nearby police precinct and ask for help.
