1 dead, 1 hurt in QC traffic row
MANILA, Philippines - A man was gunned down while his companion was hurt in a traffic altercation in Quezon City Sunday night.
August Cusay told police that he and victims Nestor Barientos, 48; and Marvin Escorial, 33, were cruising in a Nissan Sentra along Payatas Road when they figured in an altercation with a person driving a Kia Pregio.
He said they decided to block the Pregio and confront its driver. The two victims approached the Pregio, but the driver started shooting.
Barientos was declared dead on arrival at the FEU Hospital from a gunshot wound in the chest while Escorial was hit in the neck and rushed to the same hospital.
Police Officer 3 Gregorio Maramag said they have yet to determine the identity of the shooter. No one was able to get the plate number of the Pregio.
