Woman slain, another molested in 2 Valenzuela break-ins
MANILA, Philippines - A 78-year-old Chinese woman was killed and a 23-year-old woman was molested by men who broke into their homes in Valenzuela City Saturday.
Wu Xuan Xuan, a resident of Barangay Parada, died of stab wounds in different parts of the body, Senior Police Officer 2 Armando Delima said. Wu’s daughter, Lim Bing Hong, told police she was at the second floor of their house when she heard her mother screaming from the kitchen at around noon.
When she went to the kitchen, a man armed with a handgun grabbed her and dragged her back to the second floor, where she was hogtied with a blanket in her bedroom.
Lim said she was able to free herself and call the police after the robbers left.
According to Lim, the robbers fled with P200,000, two laptop computers, a cell phone, and two credit cards.
Before the Barangay Parada incident, at least three unidentified men broke into a home in Barangay Malinta at around 11 a.m. and molested a woman who was alone in the house.
The victim told police that robbers, armed with handguns, entered her room at around 11 a.m. and tied her to the bed using the bed sheets.
The robbers covered her face with a pillow and groped her. She said she begged them to spare her. The robbers did not rape her.
The robbers escaped with three digital cameras, two laptop computers, a video camera, a cell phone, a computer central processing unit, cash and assorted jewelry. The victim said she was able to untie herself after the robbers were gone and seek help from the police.
