Police nab suspect in ambush-slay of businessman, niece

MANILA, Philippines - Valenzuela City police arrested yesterday a dismissed cop, tagged as the brains behind the ambush killing and robbery of a businessman and his niece in Valenzuela City last week.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor identified the suspect as Reynado Noque, 36, a former policeman assigned at the North Caloocan Police Station and resident of 107 Governor Pascual Avenue in Barangay Catmon, Malabon City.

Noque also squealed on the identity and whereabouts of his cohorts, now the subject of a police manhunt. He pointed to his cohorts as Ronan Orio of Barangay Bigte, Norzagaray and Jordan Ramos of 137 Regaso Street, Barangay Saluysuy, Meycauayan, both in Bulacan.

Noque was tagged in the robbery and ambush slaying of Jovencio Pagador, 53, a retired policeman in Pangasinan and chief executive officer of the Great Horizon Manpower and his niece, Haydee Paloma, 28.
