Woman, 5 girls survive ambush try in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - Two motorcycle-riding men ambushed a housewife who was driving her two daughters and three nieces home in Caloocan City Sunday night, police said yesterday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Wilson Santos said Maribel Lee Tecson, 49, suffered wounds when the windshield shattered as it was pierced by bullets.

Police Officer 2 Reynaldo Placido said the ambush occurred along Malanting street in Amparo Subdivision. The gunmen overtook Tecson’s Toyota Innova and shot at the windshield at least nine times. None of the bullets hit the victims. The attackers fled toward Capital Park Homes. Police said they have yet to establish a motive for the ambush.
