Internet shop in Mandaluyong robbed

MANILA, Philippines - Five armed men who pretended to be customers, robbed an Internet shop in Mandaluyong City yesterday and carted away the shop’s earnings and personal belongings of clients, including the surveillance camera, worth P100,000.

Jimmy Long, 47, owner of Winterville Internet Café along North Sikap street corner San Rafael street in Barangay Plainview and four of his clients reported the robbery to the local police hours after the robbers have left.

Long said the suspects entered his shop at about 12:20 a.m., pulled out their handguns and announced the robbery.

The suspects took the shop’s five flat screen monitor, its undetermined amount of earnings and divested the jewelry, cash and other personal belongings of the shop’s clients. They also grabbed the closed-circuit television camera of the establishment.
