Korean woman found dead in Makati condo

MANILA, Philippines - A Korean woman was found dead in her condominium unit in Makati City yesterday afternoon.

Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Froilan Bonifacio said Won Young, believed to be in her 30s, was found hanging by a curtain cord tied around her neck in the bedroom of her unit at the Prince Plaza 1 at around 12:45 p.m.

Her body was found by the condominium’s security personnel, who were alarmed by a foul smell coming from her unit. They then called the police.

“It appears that she has been dead for quite sometime. We are looking at her death as a possible suicide but we will also explore other angles at the moment,” Bonifacio said.

The Makati police said it has contacted the Korean embassy as investigation into the woman’s death continues.
