MANILA, Philippines - The big-time drug courier who was arrested in Pasay City last Wednesday for carrying P1.7 million worth of shabu also operates in Manila and Quezon City, a police official said yesterday.
In an interview with The STAR, the official who refused to be identified pending the completion of the investigation said the network of Pedro Vergara is “not limited” to Pasay City.
Pasay City police station’s special operations unit arrested Vergara last week. At least 150 grams of shabu, an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol, shabu sachets, and list of customers in Pasay City were seized from the suspect.
City police chief, Senior Supt. Napoleon Cuaton earlier said that Vergara’s arrest neutralized the shabu network in the city.
