Teener drowns in Pasig River

MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old out-of-school youth has died after jumping to Pasig River from Jones bridge in Binondo, Manila.

The body of Rodrigo Maturino of Bambang street in Tondo was retrieved by divers of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Thursday.

PO2 Roderick Pacilan said Maturin with several friends decided to take a dip at the Pasig River Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses told the police it was the habit of the victim to show off by jumping at the top of the bridge before diving into the water.
