QC school mulls expulsion for students in brawl
MANILA, Philippines - A public high school in Quezon City where a 16-year-old student was stabbed by a 13-year-old schoolmate during a brawl Wednesday is mulling expelling the students who participated in the fight.
“The stand of Novaliches High School was to kick out from the school all the students involved in the said incident,” Quezon City Police District-Station 4 commander Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr. said in his official follow-up report.
According to Pedrozo, Wednesday’s attack was an act of “revenge” after a friend of the victim was involved in a fight with those from the “fraternity” of the suspect. Pedrozo said they instructed the school guard to be more thorough in frisking the students before they enter the campus. Seven other minors were arrested after the brawl.
