Trader's SUV carjacked

- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines -  Armed men took a sports utility vehicle from its driver as it was parked in front of his employer’s house in Barangay Siena in Quezon City Monday night.

Trader John Paul Lim is the owner of the SUV, a dark gray Toyota Fortuner with conduction sticker TG 442.

Inspector Rogelio Diaz, chief of investigator of the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Carnapping Unit, said Lim’s driver, Rex Abes, had just parked the SUV when one of the suspects who came on board two motorcycles approached him from behind and told him at gunpoint to get out of the SUV.

The suspect then drove off with the Fortuner followed by the rest of the suspects.

Diaz said the suspects could have slipped through the police cordon by entering one of the subdivisions in the area or sneaking into one of the many warehouses in the area.
