Cops clueless on Caloocan restaurant owner's slay

- Pete Laude -

Manila, Philippines - Police said yesterday they are still conducting a follow-up investigation in the killing of a businessman in his own restaurant in Caloocan City Thursday night.

Alexander Lim Chua, 53, owner of Buenamar KTV on Diamond Road, Industrial Village in Barangay Kaybiga, died on the way to the Quezon City General Hospital due to four gunshot wounds in the body.

“We have yet to receive progress report about the case,” Police Officer 2 Samson Calayan of the Caloocan City police Substation 5, which has jurisdiction over the case, told The STAR yesterday when asked for an update on their investigation of Chua’s killing.

Chua was reportedly sitting in his restaurant at around 9 p.m. with his wife, Josephine, when two gunmen barged in and shot at the victim.

Chua was hit at least four times in different parts of the body.

SPO2 Felix Tan and his team failed to catch up with the fleeing gunmen but recovered slugs and shells for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
