Actor figures in drunk driving accident

Manila, Philippines - Actor Matt Evans allegedly drove his car while under the influence and smashed it into a bus terminal in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

The Quezon City Police District impounded wrecked blue Toyota Innova (ZJF-143).

Traffic investigator Romeo Rangas said the car was abandoned when police arrived at the UVH Transport terminal along P. Tuazon street.

Witnesses told police Evans was allegedly drunk when he was driving his vehicle. Rangas said the actor suddenly swerved his car toward the bus terminal and hit a lamppost, which broke off and fell on a parked bus. He added that Evans also destroyed a water meter.

Witnesses told police that Evans was with a female companion. An uncle of Evans reportedly arrived and was believed to have brought the actor and his companion home.

Barangay Milagrosa chairman Rolando Jorabelo and the bus firm told police that they want the actor to be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.
