Dominguez brods transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa
MANILA, Philippines - Alleged car theft gang leaders Raymond and Roger Dominguez and another suspect in the murder of a car trader were transferred yesterday to a jail facility for high-risk inmates at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City from the Quezon City Jail (QCJ).
The transfer stemmed from an order of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 219 Judge Ma. Luisa Padilla, who granted the May 4 petition filed by QCJ warden Superintendent Joseph Vela.
The Dominguez brothers and Jayson Miranda are accused of having a hand in the killing of car dealer Venson Evangelista.
The three arrived at the Metro Manila District Jail (MMDJ) at about 4:35 p.m. and were escorted by jail guards from the national headquarters of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the QCJ.
Inspector Florian Esteve, duty officer, said the three immediately underwent routine medical examination. They will be temporarily placed in MMDJ’s Special Intensive Care Area, where they will be isolated for a week.
Among their first visitors include former movie starlet and Raymond’s girlfriend, Katrina Paula, who brought with her the suspects’ personal belongings.
Senior Inspector Joel Calimbo, then duty officer when road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler was transferred to MMDJ, earlier told reporters that visitors are not allowed to visit the inmate until after the isolation period.
Ivler’s mother, Marlene Aguilar-Pollard, was also allowed to visit her son within hours after Ivler’s transfer to the MMDJ.
