MANILA, Philippines - Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri ordered yesterday that all dormitories, boarding houses and similar buildings that house students be inspected for violations of fire and building codes prior to the opening of classes in June.
Echiverri issued Executive Order 12-11, creating a task force to conduct daily inspections and report its findings to the mayor’s office.
He appealed to owners of dormitories and boarding houses to cooperate with the city government in helping protect students.
