Pedicab driver shot dead in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – A pedicab driver was shot dead by a motorist in an apparent case of road rage in Quezon City Tuesday night.

Investigator Police Officer 2 Hermogenes Capili identified the victim as Reynaldo Soriano, 35, a resident of Barangay Salvacion, Quezon City. The victim was shot in the face with a .9mm caliber pistol with the bullet exiting the back of his head.

Soriano died on the spot during the shooting incident that happened at past 9 p.m. in front of a gasoline station located at the corner of N. Roxas and Halcon Streets in Barangay San Isidro Labrador.

Capili said they have yet to identify the suspect who drove a silver Toyota Vios (ZRB-103). According to Capili, N. Roxas Street is a one-way road but the pedicab driver did a counterflow until he met with the annoyed suspect, who immediately got out of his car.

Before the suspect returned to his car, he allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the victim then quickly fled the area.
