- Nestor Etolle -

MANILA, Philippines - Police officers and a man whose stolen motorcycle was found at a parking lot in Tondo, Manila waited for nine hours Sunday to catch two men who tried to drive off with the motorcycle.

Ivan del Rosario reported to police at around 8 a.m. the loss of his Honda Wave motorcycle (9814-PH) while it was parked at the corner of Herrera and Ylaya streets in Tondo.

Moriones police station chief Superintendent Ernesto Tendero had his men search for the missing motorcycle. Together with Del Rosario, police spotted the motorcycle at a parking lot in Moriones.

However, police officers instructed the victim to wait for whoever will drive off with the motorcycle.

At around 6 p.m., police and the victim saw two men ride the motorcycle and start its engine. Police officers arrested Arvy Gumarang, 28, and Ronald Encarnado, 28, both of Caloocan City, and recovered a lockpick they used to start the motorcycle’s engine.
