Drunk cop fires gun, hits 2 teens in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines -  A drunk Cavite policemen allegedly shot two teens in Parañaque City Saturday afternoon, a police official said yesterday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Nestor Pastoral said his men and members of the Cavite police are looking for Police Officer 2 Sammy Pineda, who was drunk when he fired his gun in his house at the Lorenzana Compound in Barangay San Dionisio.

Pineda hit two boys, aged 14 and 16, who were passing by. They were immediately brought to Florencio Bernabe Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police said Pineda was having an argument with an alleged telephone wire thief when he fired his gun.

Pastoral told The STAR he already talked to Cavite police chief Superintendent Edgar Roquero, who assured him Pineda will surrender.

“But until now he has yet to surface. This will only aggravate his case,” Pastoral said over the phone.

Pineda will be charged with alarm and scandal and physical injuries. An administrative case for grave misconduct will also be filed against him, Pastoral said.
