Girl raped at Good Friday film showing

MANILA, Philippines - An 18-year-old girl was dragged off from a nighttime outdoor showing of a film on Jesus Christ and raped by two men at a nearby abandoned house in Quezon City on Good Friday.

One of the suspects, Krishna Kim Cruz, 20, was arrested at his house in Barangay Doña Imelda following a complaint by the victim, said Superintendent Edgardo Pamittan, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station11.

Investigator Police Officer 3 Minerva Casem said they are now searching for Cruz’s companion when the alleged rape took place.

The girl said she was watching the movie, along with some residents, on a large screen set up in their neighborhood when two men suddenly dragged her by the arm. One of the suspects pointed a fan knife at her, and she was forced to go into a vacant house where the two men reportedly raped her and then left.

The girl said she reported her ordeal to village authorities and sought police assistance.
