Caloocan asks residents: Stop littering, mitigate global warming
MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City government called on residents yesterday to help mitigate the effects of global warming by keeping their surroundings clean.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri made the renewed appeal after the local government, in cooperation with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, launched Friday its enhanced anti-littering drive Caloocan Ko, Love Ko.
Echiverri said the project was specifically created to boost the city’s cleanliness.
“By the simple act of throwing (away) our litter properly we are able to do something about the problem of global warming,” he said.
