DND bidding on ammo-making equipment fails

- Alexis Romero -

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of National Defense (DND) declared yesterday a failure of bidding for the purchase of P360 million worth of equipment to manufacture ammunition after bidders failed to satisfy documentary requirements.

The DND bids and awards committee said the two bidders – Waterbury Farrel and US-based Silver State Armory, which was represented by Index Specialty Products, Inc. – were ineligible since the bid documents they submitted were incomplete.

The project involved the acquisition of the government arsenal case manufacture and cartridge assembly equipment. The equipment will allow the government to manufacture ammunition to augment the supplies of military troops in the field.

The DND aims to hold another bidding next month.
