1 dead, 1 hurt in QC road mishap

MANILA, Philippines -  A motorcycle driver was killed and his passenger injured when they collided with a passenger bus along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City Monday afternoon.

Rozalino Pedroso, 48, died on the spot from head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, according to Senior Police Officer 1 Edgardo Talacay.

Pedroso’s passenger, Michael Malicidem, suffered chest injuries and was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Talacay said the mishap was reportedly Pedroso’s fault. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority personnel told police Pedroso was driving along University Lane when he suddenly took a right turn on Commonwealth Avenue and was hit by a bus bound for Fairview.
