- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City government conferred posthumous awards on actor Redford White and educator Dr. Reynaldo Yamsuan for exemplary achievements in their respective fields during the celebration of the city's 49th founding anniversary.

Mayor Enrico Echiverri said White – Cipriano “Dodoy” Cermeno in real life – was a resident of Camarin who gave “people immeasurable joy with his works.”

Yamsuan was also recognized for introducing significant improvements in the educational system, particularly at the Bagong Silang High School where he was a former principal.

Echiverri said honoring Yamsuan and Cermeno was the local government’s way of “immortalizing their legacies.”

The city government also recognized Dr. Elizabeth Manalo as outstanding educator; Chief Inspectors Rodrigo Soriano and Marcelo Mariano and SPO1 Antonio Hernandez as outstanding law enforcers; Inspector Julius Daryl Bulatao as outstanding fire officer and Lourdes Ching as outstanding non-uniformed fire department personnel; and Manuel Guiab, outstanding prosecutor.

In health, the outstanding physician was Dr. Evelyn Lopez del Rosario; Redencion Cristobal, outstanding midwife; Fe Feliciano, outstanding barangay health worker; Flora Villalon, outstanding nurse; and Dr. Fernando Silverio, outstanding dentist.
