Auditor found dead at DENR hostel

MANILA, Philippines –  An auditor was found dead inside a bathroom of the hostel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) at past midnight yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Jose Roland Belgica identified the victim as Jaime Padilla Jr., 23, Audit Examiner II of DENR Region 1.

Belgica said Padilla had been staying at the hostel with other DENR employees who were attending a seminar.

Padilla had just come out of his room to tell his roommates he was not feeling well. Padilla then returned to his room to use the bathroom.

When he did not come out, the guard checked on Padilla but received no reply from him. His roommates then decided to force open the locked bathroom and were shocked to find Padilla sprawled on the floor.
