MANILA, Philippines - A suspected robber was caught by policemen who chased him and his companion after they allegedly robbed the passengers of a jeepney in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Michael Florencio, 21, of Barangay Tatalon, was arrested by patrolling policemen at around 1:45 a.m. at the corner of E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard and Araneta Avenue,
Superintendent Edgardo Pamittan, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 11, said Florencio’s unidentified companion managed to evade arrest.
Pamittan said the suspects reportedly robbed call center agents Victim Tricia Almazan, 21, and Michelle Maravillas, 36, of Muntinlupa City.
Police recovered from Florencio a fan knife and Almazan’s bag containing three cellular phones, a wallet with P700 and identification cards. However, the police failed to recover the contents of Maravillas’ bag, believed to have been taken by the other suspect.
