MANILA, Philippines – The commander of the Pasay City Police Community Precinct 2 and 14 of his men were removed from their posts after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a suspected shabu den in the precinct’s area of jurisdiction Thursday.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton said his order to relieve Chief Inspector Angelito de Juan and his men will take effect on Monday.
About 20 grams of shabu was seized from alleged drug peddler Ricardo Morales when PDEA agents and Pasay police officers raided his house at the corner of F. Muñoz and Tramo streets Thursday. Morales’ common-law wife, Edna Baynos, and two others were also arrested while one suspect escaped.
Cuaton said the relief order was not due to the drug raid but De Juan’s alleged failure to “deliver” as precinct commander.
