Sexagenarian jailed for harassing teen maid

MANILA, Philippines -  A 65-year-old man was hauled off to jail after his 16-year-old maid complained that he groped her while they were watching television at his house in Barangay Fairview, Quezon City Monday. The girl called up her aunt, who reported the incident to the police.

At the police station, the suspect, whose name investigators at the women’s and children’s protection desk withheld, said “for me, it (the groping) was just a joke.”

The suspect said he just touched a part of her body “near” her genitals. “ I did not push it further,” he said in a television interview.

The suspect was detained at the Quezon City Police Station 5 for investigation while the girl was turned over to city social workers.
