3 bank rob suspects post P.2-M bail each

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines –  Three alleged members of the Ozamis robbery gang, arrested Friday during a foiled P20-million bank robbery, were released yesterday after posting P200,000 bail each.

The Manila Police District released from its custody Rolando Noriega, 36; Ramie Soler, 36; and Edzel Pamat, 30, after they posted bail before the Manila regional trial court.

Earlier, a Manila prosecutor recommended P200,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the three men, who were charged with illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

“This goes to show that they are a well-entrenched robbery syndicate. They have saved part of their loot for their bail money,” said Superintendent Remus Medina, head of the Regional Police Intelligence and Operating Unit.

Medina said they are closely monitoring the activities of the three men to prevent them from meeting with other members of the Ozamis group and stage bank robberies in Metro Manila.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Nicanor Bartolome said Noriega, Soler, and Pamat were reportedly casing a bank along Adriatico street in Manila when his men arrested them and confiscated two hand grenades, two .38 caliber revolvers and a Mitsubishi Adventure from the suspects.
