Search for teen leads to Pasay bar raid

- Jose Rodel Clapano -

MANILA, Philippines –  A woman’s search for her 17-year-old daughter, who was missing for the past two weeks, ended yesterday when she found the girl working as a guest relations officer (GRO) at a KTV bar in Pasay City.

Senior Inspector Melvin Morante, chief of the Pasay police’s special operations unit, said they raided Club 9 KTV along Roxas Boulevard following a complaint from the girl’s mother, a resident of Barangay Olympia in Makati City.

Police rescued the woman’s daughter, the girl’s cousin, two other minors, and the 41 other women and brought them to the police station.

Morante said the bar’s manager and cashier were invited for questioning after they failed to show a business permit.

Pasay City police chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton recommended the closure of Club 9 KTV.
