Cabbie found dead in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A cabbie was found dead inside his taxi in what appeared to be a failed robbery in Quezon City Monday night.

Police identified the victim as Osmundo Rosauro Jr, 47, whose body bore several gunshot wounds.

Crime scene operatives found six shells and a bullet from a 9mm pistol at the crime scene. Rosauro’s killers remain unidentified.

Police said resident Teresito Chung, 59, heard a gunshot, followed by several more, just outside his house in Barangay Old Balara at around 10 p.m. He waited for some time before he went out of the house to check.

Chung found the victim’s body in a white Jonie Trans taxi (TXU-673), with the motor still running.

Police said a follow-up investigation is underway.
