2 suspects in P7-M Pasay heist arrested

- Aie Balagtas See, Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - Footage taken by a surveillance camera helped police capture two of three suspects in a P7-million robbery at a money changer shop in Pasay City last Dec. 8.

Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton, Pasay City police chief said the closed-circuit television camera of the Sanry’s Money Changer at Metropoint shopping center caught the license plate of the motorcycle used by the three suspects in the robbery.

They arrested Roger Solapco, 39, and Willy Enriquez, 43, and recovered from them a Para Ordnance .45 caliber pistol and P416,000, Enriquez’s share of the loot.

Pasay City investigation head Chief Inspector Raymond Liguden said they traced the motorcycle to Khem Harold Rañola of Pasay City, who told them the motorcycle is frequently used by his uncle, Solapco.

Solapco, under questioning, admitted he was hired by a certain Buenacosa to get a motorcycle for the heist, and received P25,000 for doing so.

Police said they are hunting down Buenacosa.

Cuaton ordered the filing of robbery and illegal possession of firearms charges against the suspects before the Pasay City prosecutor’s office.
