PPCRV volunteers hit
MANILA, Philippines – Several residents of an affluent village in Makati City have called for the revocation of accreditation of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) volunteers, claiming they abetted the alleged irregularities in the last barangay elections.
Led by Amery Santiago, wife of defeated barangay chairman candidate in San Lorenzo Village, the residents scored the alleged impartiality of PPCRV volunteers who openly supported the candidacy of proclaimed barangay chairman Ernesto Moya.
“We want to call the attention of PPCRV chairman Henrietta de Villa to investigate our complaints. We know that chairman De Villa will not tolerate any misdoings of their volunteers, so she should revoke the accreditation of these volunteers. PPCRV volunteers must always be non-partisan and should not take sides with any candidate,” Santiago said in an interview.
Santiago specifically cited PPCRV volunteer Arwin Serrano who reportedly had exhibited his bias and leanings toward Moya before and after the elections.
Santiago claimed that Serrano even showed his support to Moya during the court hearings on the election protest filed by her husband.
