PRC launches online verification system
MANILA, Philippines – To protect employers and the public from persons claiming to be licensed professionals, the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) has adopted an online verification system.
PRC chief Nicolas Lapena said by logging on to the agency’s website and going to its Online Verification of the Status of Professionals (OVSP) page, the public could check the license of professionals they are dealing with.
He said all a verifier has to do is type the professional’s registration number and date of birth, but if the search does not return a record, the verifier may e-mail the PRC registration division at [email protected].
The PRC also launched an online verification of ratings (OVR) to enable Filipino seafarers who took the licensure examination to check results of the test.
Examinees are required to choose a profession, type in the application number, complete name and birth date. Confidentiality is assured as examinees use a unique PRC-issued application number.
At least 2,000 applicants visit the PRC office on a daily basis, but during the examination period for nurses, teachers and marine officers, the number rises to 6,000 daily, PRC said.
