Rob suspect moonlights as drug pusher, gets caught
MANILA, Philippines - A robbery suspect tagged in a series of heists in at least four barangays in Quezon City was arrested by police in a drug bust, an official said yesterday.
Anti-drug police officers of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 6 arrested Michael Tan on Nov. 8 after an undercover policeman was able to buy P200 worth of shabu from him.
Tan is facing drug charges as well as a case for illegal possession of firearms and violating the election-related gun ban after a .38 caliber revolver was found in his possession when he was arrested in Barangay Payatas.
“The chairmen of Barangays Payatas, Batasan, Holy Spirit and Old Balara have called me up, expressing gladness that the suspect had been arrested,” Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., commander of the QCPD Station 6, said.
Pedrozo said that after Tan was arrested, an Indian national identified him as the man who robbed him at gunpoint on Nov. 7, the day before he was caught.
