Top pyramid scam suspect nabbed

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines - The prime suspect in a P200-million pyramid scam was arrested by police yesterday on his way to a court hearing in Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 10 commander Superintendent Constante Agpaoa said he and his men arrested Kaye del Rosario after he fled the country for Canada in 2003 in a bid to escape his victims. Del Rosario has since been deported back to the country.

Agpaoa said they received information, apparently from those he victimized, that he would be attending a hearing at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 75.

Agpaoa said Del Rosario and his wife Janice, owners of JDR Holdings, have several standing arrest warrants for large-scale estafa.

Agpaoa said among those defrauded by Del Rosario were members of the military and the police.
