HPG gives tips to avoid Bundol Gang attacks
MANILA, Philippines - The Highway Patrol Group called on the public yesterday to observe measures to avoid being victimized by the Bundol Gang.
HPG director Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said most of the attacks took place along the C-5 Road in Taguig City, which is near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Police believe the gang has “spotters” who identify potential victims at the NAIA and point them out to other gang members.
“C-5 is a high-speed highway and when you are moving at 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, it is unusual for somebody to hit you at the back,” Espina said.
If this happens, Espina advised motorists not to stop and confront the occupant of the other vehicle, because it is at this juncture that the Bundol Gang would strike.
He said motorists should take note of the plate number of the vehicle that rear-ended them and then drive immediately to a nearby police station or a crowded area to ask for help.
